Scientific Properties 

Yellow Jasper is an opaque, microcrystalline variety of Quartz with large, grainy crystals rather than the fibrous layers of Chalcedony or Agate. It is a silicon mineral of the Trigonal crystal system. 

Ametrine is a member of the Quartz family, a silicon dioxide mineral, of the Trigonal crystal system with a Mohs hardness of 7. Its structure is hexagonal and is crypto-crystalline. 

 It occurs in nodules or as fillings in fissures and may be found the world over. Its mustard, sandy or burnished yellow coloring is due to high iron content and may contain other minerals or impurities that create rich patterns and veining. Yellow Jasper is also prominent in Poppy Jasper, Mookaite Jasper, and in many orbicular and multicolored Jaspers. [Simmons, 215][Eason, 97]

Metaphysical Properties 

Yellow Jasper assists the nerve. By calming ad soothing them. It aids emotional support and strengthens one to be self-confident within oneself. It assists in building friendships and deflecting adverse energies.

 It holds a deep connection to the Earth and is a marvelous aid for grounding and insight in spiritual work, mind travel, or deep meditations. Yellow Jasper stimulates the Solar Plexus Chakra and amplifies self-confidence and courage, bringing energy and enthusiasm to one’s life and relationships. Yellow Jasper has subtle fire energy in Feng Shui. Connecting to this method, fire energy is generally used in the center of a home or room to bring cheerfulness, light, and energy to the entire space.
